The look of an old Italian villa was achieved through this Fresco Colorwash in the color Oro. A white satin base coat is applied to textured walls, then apply random patches of desired color
paint (2 shades, one darker and one much lighter) mixed with glaze onto the walls, blending it with dry brushes. Oil or latex paint can be used for this technique. Approximate time to complete 4-5 days.
Similar finishes are: Venetian Plaster (the look of polished stone) and aged wall plaster.
A Color Rub adds elegance to this dining room. A white satin base coat is applied to the walls, then apply random patches of desired color paint (shades, one darker and one much lighter) mixed with glaze onto the walls, using a damp, bunched up rag to blend paint in a swirling pattern. A Japanese Hake can be used to give a softer, more cloud-like appearance. Below the chair rail a dark solid green latex paint was applied. Oil or latex paint can be used for this technique.
Approximate time to complete 4-5 days.
